Mia EngelFebruary 28, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend this office! I became concerned about a pigment in my cat’s eye and was able to get an appointment here the same week. Dr. Gearhart examined my cat and shared her concerns, and even followed up with me a couple of weeks later after discussing the case with her colleagues. She made sure to answer all of my questions, go over all of the options, and explained things in a way that made sense. We ultimately decided to remove the eye and the staff took such great care of my kitty! I so appreciate Dr. Gearhart’s expertise and care for Oliver.jada talbotFebruary 27, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We made the trip from South Dakota specifically to see this veterinary ophthalmology team for our dog’s eye ulcer, and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. The doctors (all 3 doctors were hands on with her and they all knew her case) and staff were extremely knowledgeable, clear in their explanations, and proactive in treatment. They provided detailed instructions and closely monitored her progress. What truly sets them apart is their dedication — they communicated with us after hours when we had concerns and performed check-ins to make sure she was improving. Their level of care and professionalism is exceptional. We highly recommend them to anyone needing specialized eye care for their pet.🤍Callan TharnishFebruary 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have used Apex for a couple years now and our dog has had multiple surgeries, all with positive outcomes. Dr Michau and team are kind, knowledgeable, professional, and communicative. Discharge instructions are clear and detailed, and they’re so good at handling our pup, who is normally very anxious! When we’ve had emergencies or concerns, I’ve called and always gotten her in immediately or that same day. We really appreciate Apex being there when our girl needs help!!Denise Carlson-ToddFebruary 13, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are beyond grateful for the exceptional care we received at APEX Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialists. Our 8-year-old Boston Terrier, Ellie, was diagnosed with a hereditary eye disease that would eventually lead to blindness. Our regular veterinarian recommended that we see a veterinary ophthalmologist, and finding Dr. Tanja Nuhsbaum at APEX was truly a blessing. From our very first visit, Dr. Nuhsbaum took the time to explain Ellie’s condition in a clear and compassionate way. She helped us understand what would happen if we chose not to treat it, including the pain Ellie would experience from frequent eye ulcerations. She also carefully explained how surgery could correct the problem. At no point did we feel pressured—she simply gave us the information we needed to make the best decision for our dog. We ultimately decided to move forward with surgery on both eyes. While the procedure is not inexpensive, it was absolutely worth every penny. Two weeks ago, Ellie had her surgery, followed by two weeks of wearing a cone, taking medications, and having restricted activity. Today, Ellie’s eyes are healthy again, and she is completely back to her happy, normal self. Seeing her comfortable and pain-free is priceless. We are incredibly thankful to Dr. Nuhsbaum and the entire APEX staff. They genuinely care about every animal and treat them with kindness, patience, and love. Their professionalism and compassion made a stressful situation so much easier. We would recommend APEX over and over again to anyone who needs specialized eye care for their pet. They truly changed Ellie’s life—and ours—for the better.Omad AFebruary 6, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. You know there’s something special going on at APEX ophthalmology when CSU vet hospital and another emergency vet facility spent hours trying to find the root cause of a complicated eye scenario and weren’t able to, but Dr.Nuhsbaum got it right within the hour of seeing her. Where other vets prescribed more medication, Dr.Nuhsbaum methodically learned about our dog’s history and pin pointed the culprit. Having a dog pre-disposed with primary glaucoma, it would be reasonable to think the squint is due to glaucoma affecting the eye, but Dr.Nuhsbaum went above and beyond to find the ingredients of a specific eye medication and the manner of how it was reconstituted which ended up being the root cause of our dog shutting her eye for days. Where other vets would add more medication, Dr.Nuhsbaum felt in this situation less was more and she nailed the diagnosis. Instead of saying “we’ll see how she is in x days,” we got “ let’s do this for x days, then re-examine, then we’ll proceed with this for another x amount of days and re-examine” having a game plan to move forward kept us mentally healthy during this stressful time. I also want to recognize Apex Opthamology’s staff, from the minute I called, to the minute I left they were on top of every detail, willing to do whatever it takes to get my dog the help she needed. I would drive across the country to get my dog seen at Apex Ophthalmology.James SheehanFebruary 2, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was looking for an ophthalmologist for my dog and really didn't know where to start. My vet had told me that the eye I was concerned about looked healthy to them and there really wasn't much else they could do. However, the eye looked blood shot and irritated everyday, especially at night. Unfortunately, I was more bothered by the eye and the potential that there may be something wrong. So, I chose to take action and look for a second opinion. After a quick search it looked like Apex would be my best option, despite being pretty far away, so I booked an appointment. I am incredibly glad I did. They gave me an extensive and complete run down on my dogs eye health and took the time to explain every step and what they saw. There did end up being some areas to be concerned with and Dr. Nuhsbaum was able to administer a treatment plan that worked almost immediately. By the time our second visit came around, Dash's eye looked much better. She had developed an unrelated limp due to some rough play at the dog park that I informed them of. Almost immediately Dr. Nuhsbaum and Ester went out of their way to offer to get Dash checked out at the vet next door. They escorted her off, and brought her back with a full break down of what the vet saw - nothing to be worried about. But, providing me with the peace of mind that my dog is okay, which is priceless. They didn't need to do that, but they went out of their way to do so. I can tell within two visits that my dog is receiving the best care possible. Apex is knowledgeable and kind but they also care deeply about your dogs health - and you can feel that when you take your pet there. Big shoutout to Ester and Dr. Nuhsbaum. They really go the extra mile here. Thank you!!!ReneeJanuary 27, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND*** Dr. Nuhsbaum was amazing!! We bought our dog Ruthie in for glaucoma symptoms. Immediate treatment brought the pressure down, and she can see!! Unfortunately Ruth had lost her other eye a year ago due to glaucoma, and had we come to Dr. Nuhsbaum, we think that eye may have been saved, too. The staff was incredible, and you could tell everyone cared about Ruth. They calmed are nerves and were willing to do anything and everything to help.bailey propernickJanuary 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So incredibly grateful for this amazing team after dealing with a stressful situation with my primary vet who was not able to provide proper care for my english bulldog!! Skip the middleman and just bring them here first, they will take great care of you and your pup!Julie BaumgartnerJanuary 16, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
